This weekend, a handful of us shot down to Dubai for the weekend. I can't help but take some pictures. Of course Dubai has its drawbacks having oversaturated its own market with incredible overspeculation, and of course there are some ecologically disastrous projects and issues of unsustainability. HOWEVER, it still makes for a fascinating urban landscape and some quiet, pleasant surprises.

Our itinerary was to go to the Burj Al Arab (world's tallest hotel; seven stars) for a few drinks; have Pete meet us from the airport; and go to Atlantis Hotel on the edge of the Palm Jumeira. Consultant Tim and I got in town a little earlier and decided to do some shopping at Madinet Jumeira and also get some skiing in before hanging out. It was a great weekend.
